❤️❤️❤️ Recently, the WCBC issued on behalf of members its annual donations to non-profit organizations that support cycling through advocacy for the greater community and/or provide facility access (such as use of parking lots, restrooms and water taps) for Club-led rides. Recipients for the awards were chosen from Club members’ nominations.
This year’s recipients are:
Bike Delaware | $500 |
Bike Delaware – Everyone Gets Home Safe Summit | $1,500 |
Bike Newark | $2,000 |
Delaware Veterans Memorial | $500 |
Newark Bike Project | $1,500 |
League of American Bicyclists | $250 |
Love of Christ Church | $500 |
Urban Bike Project of Delaware | $1,500 |
“THANK YOU so much for White Clay Bicycle Club’s continued, generous support of our work,” said League of American Bicyclists Director of Membership & Development Kevin Dekkinga. “Whether you prefer roads or trails, paved or gravel, know that your support fuels our work to make bicycling safer, more fun and accessible to all.”
Bike Newark Treasurer Karl Hassler said the WCBC grant “capped off a wholly extraordinary Bike Week 2023 that included our announcement from the League” of Newark as silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community.”
Nominations by Club members for 2024 award recipients will be accepted in January 2024.
