DESCRIPTION:BROMPTON RIDERS! Join us for this 6th (or 7th?) bright and early Brompton ride around historic central Philadelphia. \nWe’ll meet up at the center info booth inside Amtrak 30th St. Station at the dot of 8:30 a.m. for a quick group photo\, then unfold and pedal off at a civilized pace\, fetching up at the PHILLY BIKE EXPO right around opening time. \n And YES\, Brompton Bicycles will be live at the Expo\, ready to answer all your questions in great detail!  \nFREE\, but please note that this is a BROMPTONS-ONLY RIDE. \n(Your local\, canonized Brompton Dealers – Trophy Bikes and Transport Cycles – will be happy to sell you one before the ride!)

DESCRIPTION:A SHORT RIDE + TOAST TO THE MOST \nAVERAGING BIKE EVER DESIGNED: \nTHE Surly CROSS CHECK\, 2000-2023 \nThe SURLY Cross Check frame was first offered in 1999\, followed by a complete bike in 2000. \nIt was a sleeper hit from the start. At Trophy Bikes\, we called the Cross Check\, “The FENDER TELECASTER of bikes.” It wasn’t the best/most of anything\, but a Cross Check was pretty good at practically everything. \nParent company QBP said CCs were still selling OK\, but the push to make every bike use disc brakes to stop\, and the success of SURLY’S Straggler (pretty much a disc Cross Check) led to the CROSS CHECK being discontinued in 2023\, the longest run of any SURLY. \nThis ride is Party-Paced\, ends close to the start\, in plenty of time to make your Saturday Night festivities. \nPLEEZ: \nRide your CROSS CHECK if you got one (look at Craigslist!)\, or ride your SURLY of any type. \nOr jeez just ride a steel bike. Carbon fiber bikes may be subject to keying. \nAND ALSO: \nHelmet and lights\, duh. BRING 4 quarters or a dollar bill for the prize pot!
