SUMMARY:MS Bike to the Bay 2019
DESCRIPTION:The event is a two day event\, 150 (or 175) miles total. A 75 (or 100) route on Saturday (10/12) from Dover to Rehoboth and a 75 mile return route on Sunday (10/13) from Rehoboth to Dover. This is a very flat route\, with rest stops about every 10-15 miles. There is a registration fee as well as a minimum amount of fundraising that is required. This event drawing about 1\,000 participants each year and has food and drink for the participants at the finish line on both days. Participants can opt to ride the first day and shuttle back to the finish on Sunday. See the website for more details about all aspects of the event\, including a route map.\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA). A 501(c)(3)\,  non-profit organization dedicated to funding research to cure Friedreich’s Ataxia\, a debilitating\, life-shortening\, degenerative neuromuscular disorder with no treatment or cure. \nBrief Description: 4\, 8\, 25\, and 50 mile route options. Fully stocked rest stops\, strong SAG support\, and delicious post ride food prepared by Outback Steakhouse\, Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Bonefish Grill. Fundraising benefits the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA). Fundraising is not required but strongly encouraged. Registration fee includes ride\, lunch\, and event t-shirt. \nFriedreich’s ataxia (FA) is a debilitating multi-system disease and the most common type of inherited ataxia. 1 in 100 people are carriers of the FA gene. What begins as difficulty with balance and coordination progresses over a short period of time to a life altering loss of mobility\, energy\, speech and hearing\, robbing children and young adults of the ability to live active lives. FA also presents serious risk of diabetes and life shortening cardiac disease. As of today\, there is no treatment or cure.
