Ride of Silence 2021 – From Two Locations
The Club will be participating the Ride of Silence event this year. We will be offering events in the North Wilmington and Glasgow-Bear areas.
Ride of Silence events are organized events comprised of memorial rides across the world. These rides are meant
- To HONOR those who have been injured or killed
- To RAISE AWARENESS that we are here
- To ask that we all SHARE THE ROAD
The Ride of Silence, which is held during National Bike Month, aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police, and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. For more information about the Ride of Silence http://rideofsilence.org/main.php
Unfortunately health concerns forced Wilmington to deny the permit for our annual ROS event in the city, which prompted us to move it to the Glasgow-Bear and North Wilmington areas for 2021.
Please see our Ride Calendar for details about the two events along with links to the appropriate online sign-up forms which must me completed to participate.
Everyone is welcome to join as these rides are family friendly travelling at approximately 10 mph.
All rides depart promptly at 7 pm in silent procession, but please arrive by 6:30 and be prepared by 6:45 to participate in the pre-ride memorial observance.
We hope that you can join us to demonstrate to motorists that you have concerns for your personal safety and the safety of others.
