We’d be in heaven, if you would volunteer in 2027.

Next year, WCBC has 4 key Executive Committee positions that require fulfilling: Shorefire Century Director, Savage Century Director, Major Event Coordinator and Social Chair.

Individuals interested in volunteering to take the reins of the 2027 Shorefire Century and Savage Century have the opportunity to learn running these events under this year’s leaders, Bill Ebbott and Dinesh Mistry. Both Bill and Dinesh have overseen the events for several years and have all the in-and-outs of organizing those iconic rides ready to share.

Dinesh will also be leaving as Major Event Coordinator. This position ensures consistency and quality with the quartet of rides, Icicle, Doublecross, Shorefire and Savage.

Club social outings have been diminshed these past years. Currently, low participation will result in cancelling the July Picnic and October Appreciation Luncheon. The budgeted resources for those events will be rolled into improving the Winter Banquet.

One proposed improvement for the banquet would be hosting a keynote speaker. Having a special guest speaker again has been a popular recommendation by Club members. Please submit your special guest speaker ideas to Executive Committee.

To increase social events and Club members’ participation, the position of Social Chair is being resurrected. The Social Chair will plan and help promote special one-off bike events, get-togethers and annual winter banquet.

Currently, help at the upcoming Shorefire in August and Savage in September would be greatly appreciated. Volunteer sign-ups for those two major ride event are available on the Ride Calendar and event description pages.
