With 91% attendance of the 175 registered, the 2025 Doublecross Metric had a solid turnout. A welcomed break in the extreme heat coupled with no rain and low wind, boosted attendance.

In final year as Doublecross Director, Fred Hartman led a small volunteer group to run the event. Helper duties included rest stop staffing, route marking, and participant communications. Emails alerts, Ride With GPS postings, cue sheets and road blazes comprised the various communications for riders.

Among the 159 registered attendees were several folks making it a family event. Three generations of one family included playground stops for their toddler as they navigated a 32-mile route.

Two middle schoolers with their respective parents also made the trip. Plus, there several adult fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives riding together.

Adding to family friendly vibe, were a couple of Muppets fans ready to ride.

And a few states represented…

Next up is the Shorefire Century in August. Hope to see you there.
