In time for the school year to begin, the brand new School Lane Trail is now officially  open. The paved 10-foot paved pathway for pedestrians, scooters and bicycles—a brainchild of Bike Delaware—stretches from Pennwood neighborhood by the Wilmington Airport into New Castle’s established paths.

Bike Delaware does caution that there is a “very scary crossing of DuPont Highway that needs to be addressed sooner or later”.

A grant recipient of the Bikeway Innovation Grant program from the Delaware Bicycle Council, the School Lane Trail adds to the successes of Bridgeville, Milton, New Castle, Newport and more Delaware areas to improve cycling infrastructure.
