The hills were so steep, an Amish family got out of their carriage and walked up incline to spare the horse. But those challenges, didn’t discourage the 2025 Savage Century participants.
With weather optimal, 94 riders of the 108 registered were ready for the road. Non-members registered totaled 66 with 42 Club members registered. Ride participants were from 7 states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina and Texas.

Around 75% opted to take on the 100-mile ride with its more than 7,400 feet in elevation to earn the Savage completion award badge.

Dillon Broadard of Newark, DE was the first of the 100-milers to finish his ride. Dillon rolled in at 1:44 p.m. after a post-7:00 a.m. start.

Austin Rangel elected to drive down before dawn from Long Island, NY to the Delaware start to attempt his first century. The Savage with its sizable elevation is not known as a ride to achieve a rookie 100-miler. Kudos to Austin for making that accomplishment a reality.
Informal feedback from participants was favorable on the sign-in procedure, route (which had some minor changes from last year) and rest stops (special shoutouts for the homemade goodies). Most riders indicated they intend to return next year.

Thanks to Savage Director Dinesh Mistry, baked goods donors and event volunteers for all their efforts to make the final major supported event ride of the season a success.
