Starting Thanksgiving early, Club members joined the pre-holiday festivities for Cranksgiving—a combo activity of food donation and group ride. Before hitting the trail, riders donated approved non-perishable food items from the Food Bank of Delaware Most Wanted List. Eight riders contributed goods for the Food Bank of Delaware.
After securing the truckload of groceries, Ride Leaders Jamie Plower and Mary Cressman navigated a family-paced group a 30-mile route comprised of the Chesapeake & Delaware (C&D) Trail and local roads between Chesapeake City, MD and Delaware City, DE. Post-ride refreshments were held at the starting point of Grain H2O aside the Summit North Marina.
The success of the WCBC’S Cranksgiving debut will encourage this event to be first of an annual tradition. Check the Ride Calendar next year for details.
