Delaware Gran Fondo

$85 – $120The Brandywine Valley offers some of the best cycling terrain on the East Coast.
Experience one of the most scenic cycling routes in the U.S. as the Wilmington Grand Prix’s 11th Annual Delaware Gran Fondo offers cyclists the unique opportunity to traverse a challenging 100-kilometer (62 miles) course linked by 13 cultural attractions, including stunning rides through world-class institutions such as Hagley Museum & Gardens, Granogue and Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library. The Delaware Gran Fondo will allow cyclists the rare privilege of passing through these attractions on the same ride.
TWO LESS CHALLENGING OPTIONS:
* Media Fondo (60-kilometer/32-mile course). All routes enjoy police-escorted mass start from Rockford Park through Hagley Museum & Gardens & Winterthur Museum and Library. No timed climbs. Less challenging than Gran Fondo but some hilly terrain.
* Governor’s Ride (15-mile course). Register at: https://www.bikereg.com/governorsride
All Fondo participants will receive a police escort to start and police support at key intersections. Rider welcome packet including a commemorative Tshirt, Swag Bag, USA Cycling rider insurance, course marking, fully-stocked rest stops featuring signature Delaware goodies (including Woodside Creamery ice cream for Gran Fondo), post-ride reception with catered cuisine by award-winning chef Robbie Jester (winner of American cooking shows “Pressure Cooker” and “Beat Bobby Flay”) and craft beer, raffle prizes, bike valet service at festivities and more. Medals to all riders who complete the Gran Fondo.
Two timed climbs for age-group prizes in Gran Fondo only. King/Queen of the Climb Medals to top three finishers in each age group.
Riders must be 16 or older to participate. REGISTRATION LIMITED TO 1ST 500 RIDERS. There are NO REFUNDS. Riders with medical emergencies can request to have their registration deferred to 2025.
