Reflection Point

As another cycling season comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together and to thank each of you for being part of our club’s success.

This year was filled with great rides, strong participation, and countless opportunities to enjoy the camaraderie that makes our club so special. From our four major events, to weekly club-led rides, to special rides throughout the season, we continued to showcase the best of our cycling community. Whether you rode one mile or many, volunteered for an event, led a ride, or simply encouraged fellow cyclists along the way, thank you for your participation and support.

Our club’s success is built on the dedication of its members. Every ride, event, and activity is made possible by volunteers who generously contribute their time, energy, and expertise. Simply put, none of what we do would be possible without you.

In the October issue of Tailwind, we recognized two individuals whose contributions have had a lasting impact on our club. After years of dedicated service, Bill Ebbott and Dinesh Mistry are stepping down from their event director roles. On behalf of the entire club, I want to express my sincere gratitude for their leadership, commitment, and countless hours of work. Their efforts have helped make our events successful, enjoyable, and welcoming for so many riders over the years.

As we thank Bill and Dinesh for their service, we must also look to the future. We are currently seeking members who are interested in stepping into these important volunteer positions. While filling these roles is a priority, we are also always looking for volunteers willing to help with rides, events, and club activities throughout the year.

If you’ve ever considered becoming more involved, I encourage you to take that next step. Volunteering is one of the best ways to meet fellow members, give back to the cycling community, and help ensure the continued success of our club. Whether you can contribute a few hours or take on a larger role, your involvement makes a difference.

Thank you again for making this such a successful season. I look forward to riding with many of you next year and working together to keep our club strong, active, and welcoming for all.

Until then, enjoy the offseason and keep the wheels turning.

Sincerely,
Jamie Louise Plower
Club President
